Debt collectors won't pay up in lawsuit

?A West Virginia woman who was illegally harassed by debt collectors is now having a hard time collecting the $10 million the collection company owes her after a judge ruled in her favor last May, ABC News reports.

The company in question didn't show up to court when that ruling was made last May, and housewife and mother, Diana Mey, accepts that she may never get one cent from this hard-to-track company.

Two years ago, Mey received a message from Reliant Financial Associates that threatened to sue her and seize her property for a debt she owed.

However, Mey said she had no debt, and it is illegal for collectors to make threats about suing people or seizing property.

After sending a seize and desist letter to RFA, she received mysterious hang-up calls and an explicit call where she was repeatedly called a vulgar names.

Her lawyer took the case knowing they might never get paid, and despite winning the judgment, that seems to be case.

RFA is a debt buyer, a company that purchases old debts for pennies on the dollar. RFA is also a fictitious name for Global AG, LLC, and like many other debt buyers, they often change their names and locations, making it hard to find.

But Mey says even if she doesn?t see any money, it will show companies like this that they can?t get away with breaking the law.
